Renewable Futures is a conference series that originated in the Baltics and the North European region with an aim to invent new trajectories for more sustainable and imaginative future developments.
This years edition will be online and hosted by the interdisciplinary artistic research project Futures of Living Technologies (FeLT) from OsloMet in collaboration with GREEN (green.rixc.org). The FeLT project is financed by the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme/DIKU for three years.
We welcome paper proposals from researchers and artists of interdisciplinary practices from fields such as contemporary art, artistic research, art theory, media art, design and architecture, applied artificial intelligence, artificial life, robotics, life sciences, art education and other relevant practices.
We invite presentations of artistic and transdisciplinary research projects, as well as examples and discussions of applied projects and entries to a screening program curated for online presentation.
The conference will take place from the 4th to the 6th of November 2021. Additional workshops will be offered on the 7th of November. Specially invited key note speakers and presentations will be included in the program.
Contributions to the conference can be submitted to four thematic tracks:
- Ecologies beyond Green: reconfiguring complex relationships to the environment
- Making with: multispecies communication and co-creation
- Living technologies: living environments, humans, machines, intelligence, life, and emotions
- Sensorium: how we experience, interpret, and develop applied aesthetics today
The submissions are open and you can apply by the 26th of July at FeLTs website (feltproject.no).
