About

Lucy is an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow at OsloMet, where she researches migration, educational inclusion and social inequalities. She is interested in how migration is experienced, governed and navigated in everyday life, and in how social, educational and cultural institutions can both reproduce and challenge exclusion. Her research sits at the intersection of sociology, social anthropology, human geography and education.

Over the past fifteen years, Lucy has worked across research, teaching and advisory roles in Europe, Asia and West Africa for universities, NGOs, governments and international organisations, including UNESCO. Her research has addressed a range of issues connected to migration and inclusion, including refugee education, the impacts of refugee family separation, arts-based participation and the pathways through which migrants re-enter skilled professions.

Lucy is particularly interested in creative, participatory and collaborative approaches to research, and in producing work which is meaningful both within academia and beyond it. Alongside qualitative and interdisciplinary research, she aims to work with practitioners, policymakers and communities to co-produce knowledge and translate research into practice.

Lucy holds a DPhil in Education from the University of Oxford, UK and an MSc in Educational Studies from KU Leuven, Belgium.
