About

Tanja Schroot holds a Ph.D. in Sociology (2021) from the University in Turin, Italy, where she also conducted her post-doc research on the development of lifelong learning key competences of teachers, educators and students with migratory background in primary and secondary school, as well as in non-formal educational settings.

She has recently been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship at Oslo Metropolitan University, where she will study professional training opportunities and lifelong learning practices for female migrant healthcare workers in Scandinavian institutions as part of the SCILLED project (Strategies for Competence Integration and Lifelong Learning in European Destinations).

Her principal research interests are located at the intersection of migration and educational studies. Latest publications focus on the geographical and social mobility patterns of migrant women from Central and Eastern European countries and how these interact with education and socio-professional integration.
