About
I hold a master’s degree in history from the University of Bergen, where I developed an interest in environmental history. In my doctoral project, I take a closer look at what is considered pollution and how this changes over time. The dumping of military waste in seas and lakes was widespread until the 1970s, and the dumping in Lake Mjøsa in particular has sparked controversy. Why was this done, why did it stop, and how has it been discussed in retrospect? The project will examine the roles of various experts within the tension between legitimate waste management and pollution concerns.
