Anders Strand is Associate Professor of philosophy at SPS starting summer 2024. The position involves coordination and development of OsloMet's teaching program in research ethics for employees. His interests include philosophy of science, interdisciplinarity, research ethics and the interplay between these themes. Strand is part of the advisory board for the Forum for research ethics at OsloMet.

Earlier, Strand was Senior Advisor at REK south-east Norway (Regional committee for medical research ethics), where he was committee secretary for REK south-east C during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before joining SPS, Strand was Associate Professor at IFIKK, University of Oslo (temporarily 2023-2024), where he headed CPS (Centre for Philosophy and the Sciences) and was chair of the board of the Science Studies Colloquium Series. CPS was assured a continuation at IFIKK beyond the original funding period, and Strand is currently on the advisory board of CPS. In addition, Strand is researcher II at P1H - Centre for pandemic and one-health research at UiO.
