About
Corbin is a design researcher, practitioner, and educator working at the intersection of Design Studies, Futures Studies, and Sustainability. His work explores how design can support collaborative ways of imagining and shaping shared futures, particularly through scenario building in relation to socio-ecological systems, collaborative governance, and sustainability transitions.
His research interests include design futures, anticipatory design, systemic design, collaborative processes, and design-oriented approaches to complex societal challenges. In his teaching, he is interested in studio-based learning, material exploration, critical design methods, and the role of emerging technologies, including AI, in design education and practice.
Corbin has been involved in international design research projects focusing on design education and sustainability, including FUEL4DESIGN, LeNSes, LeNSin, and C-SAN Futures. Alongside his academic work, he is co-founder and creative director of an NGO in South Africa and has worked with the World Design Organization on advancing sustainability through design.
