About
I am a university lecturer in design and textiles in the Teacher Education Programmes in Aesthetic Subjects at OsloMet. I am course coordinator for LUPE and am responsible for the textile workshop, as well as sharing responsibility for the historical collection.
I have extensive experience in teaching, pedagogy and didactics in practical and creative subjects, particularly art, design, textiles, sewing and crafts. I have also taught product development, entrepreneurship, creative workshop practice, digital design media, technology and design, and e-textiles.
My work lies at the intersection of craft, textile art and fashion design. I am particularly interested in garment construction, pattern development, traditional textile techniques, material knowledge and design processes—from developing an initial idea to creating a finished product. Sustainability and health and safety are important considerations in my work. I also have experience in theatre, including costume and set design.
As a mentor and supervisor, I support students on teacher education programmes in practical and creative subjects. I also have experience supervising and assessing students at upper secondary level, in one-year programmes, and at bachelor’s and master’s levels at OsloMet and the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).
