About

As an Assistant Professor at the Department of Art, Design, and Drama at OsloMet, I specialize in the intersection of art and digital development processes. My teaching portfolio covers a wide range of subjects, including classical painting, video art, Makerspace, art mediation, digital drawing, 3D modeling, digital media, social media, and entrepreneurship in art and design.

I am a study program coordinator for the continuing education program Design and Communication in Digital Media, and I teach in the bachelor's programs in Art, Design and Mediation, and Fashion and Production, as well as in the five-year master's program in Teacher Education for Practical and Aesthetic Subjects. Additionally, I offer courses in continuing education within aesthetic disciplines.

In my role as dissemination coordinator for Visningsarena OsloMet, I develop exhibitions with our team and work on the dissemination and accessibility of The Historical Collection at the Department of Art, Design, and Drama.

My research focuses on artistic and craft-based processes, with a particular emphasis on the creation of bunads and traditional festive attire. I explore how tradition and innovation can merge in creative practices and work on developing innovative methods for maker-centered learning. This includes the use of makerspace technology and methods in aesthetic subjects. Through this work, I aim to promote a deeper understanding of how artistic practice can be integrated into educational contexts and how this integration can enhance students' learning outcomes and creative development.

You may find more on my research with defining maker-centered learning in the context of aesthetic learning in our newly published book chapter from the book Aesthetic subjects in society (Estetiske fag i samfunnet): https://cdforskning.no/cdf/catalog/book/261
