About
I am an Associate Professor of Nursing at OsloMet and an oncology nurse with a PhD from the University of Bergen. I research end-of-life care at home, focusing on patient dignity, the role of family caregivers, the sense of home, and ethical dilemmas surrounding death. I also study reflective practice in nursing education, women’s health, and digital nurse–patient communication.
I lead and contribute to several national and international projects, including work on digital communication services, reflection in education, and ethical challenges in home-based palliative care, primarily for older adults. I collaborate with partners in the Netherlands, Scotland, Singapore, and the United States, and I contribute through peer review, curriculum development, editorial board service, and inter-university partnerships. I teach at bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels in palliative care, pain, dignity, and public health, and I supervise master’s and PhD candidates.
Through research, teaching, and collaboration with municipal health services, I aim to develop evidence-based, person-centred, and sustainable services in municipal palliative care, so that more people can live and die at home, with dignity.
