Department of Research and Development (R&D)

The department is responsible for developing and supporting OsloMet as a research and innovation institution. This work is carried out in collaboration with the leadership and all research environments at the university.

The R&D department contributes both with development tasks and strategic support to build OsloMet as an outstanding research institution, strengthen research education, and promote work on sustainability, innovation, and societal improvement.

Section for Legal Services and Strategy (JUS)

This section is responsible for legal guidance and advice related to research and innovation.  

The scope of work includes regulatory and legislative work, contract and agreement law, intellectual property rights, ownership issues, and more. The section also contributes with strategic advice and analytical tasks in the R&D area.

Section for Research and Societal Improvements (FOS)

This section is responsible for advice and guidance on matters related to research education, external funding, sustainability, innovation, collaboration, and societal improvements.  

The section develops and manages frameworks, guidelines, and systems to ensure that the institution meets statutory requirements within the section’s main areas of responsibility.
