Academic Background

- Title: Knowledge Dissemination as Peace Work – A Study of Alf Sommerfelt's Critique of Race Theories 1939–1945
- The master’s thesis examines Alf Sommerfelt’s critique of race theories in Oslo before World War II, in exile in London, and in the organisation Conference of Allied Ministers of Education (CAME). It demonstrate that Sommerfelt was part of an international anti-racist engagement this period, but conveyed an ambiguous understanding of variations between people and the concept of race, and promoted a universalistic worldview.
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, IAKH, University of Oslo (2018)
- Title: The Algerian War in the History of Norwegian Foreign Policy
- The bachelor’s thesis is an investigation of Norway’s stance on the Algerian War (1954–1962) within the UN and NATO. I argue that the Norwegian foreign ministry initially adopted a middle-ground position in discussions on the Algerian War, but later endorsed demands for liberation from the colonial power, in respons to public pressure and new security considerations.
