Journalism, disinformation and literacy in an age of Gen-AI

Bringing together international scholars and practitioners, the programme examines evolving news habits among youth, the role of journalism and media institutions, and the impact of artificial intelligence on news production and consumption.

Through presentations and panel discussions, the symposium addresses key challenges at the intersection of youth, media, and democracy. Topics include young audiences’ news use, media literacy initiatives, and the responsibilities of journalists and media organizations in the age of AI.

It also highlights broader issues such as disinformation, regulation, and strategies for strengthening democratic resilience in increasingly complex information environments.

The symposium is organized by OsloMet Digital Journalism Research Group and the AI Journalism Resource Centre, Oslo Metropolitan University.
