There have never been as many educated people on this planet as there are today. Yet, if we cannot both learn and act with the knowledge that nature is being exploited beyond repair, what is quality education and lifelong learning worth?
Oslo Metropolitan University and the National Committee for Sustainability in Higher Education (nmbu.no) invite you to SDG Conference 2026: Education Unscripted – the Quest for Truth, Collaborative Transformation & Solidarity.
- Day 1: Monday February 2, Oslo City Hall (invited, streamed sessions) 10.00-16.30
- Day 2: Tuesday February 3, Deichman Bjørvika (open to public, free, registration coming soon) 9.00-18.00
Artificial intelligence technology, the rise of authoritarianism, war, conflict and forced migration are all factors challenging the “script” of education. We will explore and discuss our respective response-ability. As inspiration we will dive into the emerging positive trends of youth participation, global solidarity and activism, and alternative perspectives on regenerative education and transformative learning.
The conference will be a meeting place for integral partners in a global community committed to upholding and strengthening quality education and lifelong learning and the scientific production of knowledge. We aim for frank, open and honest conversations about where we are now, where we want to go, what we will keep and what we need to let go of.
Program and keynote to be announced.
Welcome to the SDG Conference Oslo 2026!
