The course looks at the distribution of health challenges in the population based on risk factors related to health. Education, work and living conditions and international guidelines are elements affecting disease, illness, health, and quality of life in the population. Incoming exchange students will participate in seminars about public health related to the Nordic welfare model. The course also focus on working with healthy vulnerable and marginalised groups, and children and young people's upbringing environment. As part of the course you will be able to visit a company or clinical facility working on issues related to public health.

Admission requirements
You must be admitted to a bachelor's programme in the field of health or social sciences. Exceptions may be made for students with a particular interest in the subject.

Incoming exchange students are exempt from INTER1200, which is held at the beginning of SYKPPRA45. If you are fluent in a Scandinavian language you may choose to participate - please make sure to reach out before semester start for us to be able to sign you up for INTER1200.
