This course provides a comprehensive overview and foundation of photojournalism, integrating theoretical and historical knowledge with practical application of the craft. The course encourages students to develop technical skills in camera usage and experiment with post-processing and new workflows by addressing common topics within the field.
Admission requirements
You must have basic knowledge and skills of journalistic content production.
You must upload a motivation letter for this course and portfolio of photo and/or documentary work on your application to OsloMet.
Please notice that you are required to bring your own digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera or similar, with the ability to set the camera to manual functions.

A high degree of student-active learning is emphasized. It is compulsory to follow all
planned teaching sessions. Students are expected to work in groups and independently.

Costs
There is no semester fee for exchange students.
Exam and assessment
In order to be allowed to take the exam, you must deliver four course works set by the teacher. Assignments range from photo assignments to presentations or short videos.
The exam is an individual reflection paper on a photojournalistic issue related to the curriculum and your work on the assignments, length 2-3 pages.
Grading scale: Pass / Fail
