Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy

Oslo Metropolitan University is Norway's third largest university with 23,000 students and over 2,600 employees. We have campuses in central Oslo and at Romerike. OsloMet educates students and conducts research that contributes to the sustainability of the Norwegian welfare state and the metropolitan region.

The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of four departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

Are you an occupational therapist with a PhD who is passionate about education, professional development, and research?

We are seeking candidates who wisht to contribute to educating competent health professionals and developing future rehabilitation services. With us, you will work in an engaged environment with exciting research projects and close collaboration with the field of practice.

The Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology, has two permanent fulltime (100%) positions available as Associate Professor. One position is linked to the Master’s specialisations division, and one to the bachelor's programme in Occupational Therapy; however, tasks in both the bachelor’s programme and the master’s specialisations will be included in both positions. In addition, tasks across the department’s educational programmes must be expected.

The department offers a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, a bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy, a bachelor's degree in Orthopaedic Engineering, six specialisations within the master's programme in Health Sciences (MAVIT), and one specialisation within the master's programme in Health Technology (HETEK). The positions are available from 01.08.2026.

The department has extensive research activities and several active research groups. We are looking for applicants who will contribute to the development of strong, innovative, and practice-oriented research.

We offer

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMet’s pay policy for Associate Professor in code 1011 (førsteamanuensis) corresponding to 667,700–821,100 NOK per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).

Applications from unqualified candidates will not be forwarded to the expert committee for assessment. If the number of applications requires it, an internal screening committee at OsloMet will carry out an initial selection of candidates. The selected applicants will then be assessed by the expert committee.
