Associate Professor in Prosthetics and Orthotics, full permanent position

The Faculty of Health Sciences consists of four departments and offers study programmes on all levels, including PhD. The faculty has about 6000 students and nearly 600 members of staff.

The Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology (https://www.oslomet.no/en/about/hv/rht) is seeking a clinically experienced, pedagogically engaged and research-oriented professional to strengthen our Division of Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O). There is vacancy for a 100% permanent position at the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology for an Associate Professor (førsteamanuensis or førstelektor) in Prosthetics and Orthotics with appointment as soon as possible.

The Bachelor Program in Prosthetics and Orthotics at OsloMet is a national program that has been offered since 1970. Combining health sciences and engineering with innovation, emerging health technologies, and academic expertise, this unique program educates students in all facets of a complex and evolving profession. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in bridging theory and clinical practice, supporting students in developing the skills and ethical awareness required to deliver high quality, evidence based and person-centred care. 

The field of P&O continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and it is essential that educational and research activities remain responsive to this development. The Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology has a high level of research activity through seven active research groups (https://www.oslomet.no/en/about/hv/rht/research). As a new member of our faculty, you will be invited to join the research group Clinical interventions and assistive technology (https://www.oslomet.no/en/research/research-groups/clinical-interventions). The group has produced high level research within the P&O field for more than fifteen years. We are looking forward to welcoming a dedicated scholar with a strong interest in advancing and shaping future research directions in the P&O domain.

Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, shall be offered Norwegian courses, and must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment.

Some financial support may be offered to accomedate costs with moving to Oslo, however this will be evaluated on an individual basis. 

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMets pay policy for Associate Professor in code 1011 (førsteamanuensis) and 1198 (førstelektor), corresponding to 667 700-821 100 NOK per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).

If the number of applications requires it, a screening committee at OsloMet will carry out an initial selection of candidates. The selected applicants will then be assessed by the expert committee.
