About the position

The Faculty of Technology, Art and Design (TKD) offers higher education and research and development (R&D) activities within technical subjects, arts and design. The faculty has approximately 4.000 students and 400 staff members and is situated at Pilestredet Campus in downtown Oslo and at Kjeller Campus in Akershus.

The Department of Built Environment (Department of Built Environment - OsloMet) offers two bachelor's studies and three master's studies in civil engineering, energy and indoor environment, transport and urban planning and has research and development activities in the subject areas of the studies. The department is strengthening its portfolio and academic environment in transport infrastructure.

There is vacancy for a 100% permanent position at the department for an Associate Professor in Transport Infrastructure Engineering. We are looking for an innovative, creative and responsible candidate who will lead and teach courses in predictive maintenance, smart transport infrastructure, and railway engineering. Further, the candidate will contribute to supervision and development at bachelor, master and PhD level within this area.

Qualification requirements

Applicants who do not have adequate proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, shall be offered Norwegian courses, and must acquire Norwegian skills corresponding to at least level B2 within three years of appointment. 

General criteria for appointment to teaching and research positions are set out in the Regulations relating to the Act relating to Universities and University Colleges.

We offer

The salary for the position is in accordance with the Basic Collective Agreement for state employees and OsloMet’s pay policy for Associate Professor in code 1011 (førsteamanuensis), corresponding to 720 000 – 920 000 NOK per year. A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. From the salary, 2% will be deducted in pension contributions for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).

Applications from unqualified candidates will not be forwarded to the expert committee for assessment. If the number of applications requires it, an internal screening committee at OsloMet will carry out an initial selection of candidates. The selected applicants will then be assessed by the expert committee.
