About
Cleopas's research addresses the broad questions of multidimensional poverty, inequality, wellbeing, health gain, everyday ethics, and human rights. Before his current role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at OsloMet, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Sociology at the University of Zambia. Cleopas earned his PhD at the University of Oxford as a Commonwealth Scholar for a thesis on the Relational Dimensions of Poverty as a Social Phenomenon.
He is Post Doctoral research focuses on the Gendered Dimensions of Empowerment in Social Assistance Programmes (GENDERSAP), conducting a comparative study of urban and rural Zambia through innovative couples research. He is a co-editor of the forthcoming volume The Politics of Welfare in the Global South, by Oxford University Press (2024).
