About

Helene Petersen-Sveen teaches on the bachelor's programmes in social work and child welfare. Her academic interests include critical reflection, professional judgement and professional practice, with particular emphasis on the interplay between theory and practice. She is interested in how knowledge, values and assumptions shape professional judgements and actions, and how these can be examined and challenged through critical reflection. In her skills teaching, she addresses communication and relationship building as core elements of professional competence. She also supports students during practice placements, provides guidance on academic writing and research methods, and contributes to InterAct through interprofessional learning and collaboration.
