According to the Framework Plan for Kindergartens (Ministry of Education and Research, 2017), kindergartens shall encourage multilingual children to use their mother tongue and promote linguistic diversity for the enrichment of the entire group of children.
First and foremost, this means using more languages than Norwegian in the kindergarten, for example by counting in different languages or finding out what something is called in another language. You can also organize music and reading activities in many different languages.
