In matters delegated by the dean, the Committee of Academic Affairs can:
- Approve new and revised programme and course plans for studies up to master's degree level
- Approve minor changes in programme and course plans at the PhD level together with the Doctoral Committee at TKD
- Establish guidelines related to studies at the faculty
- Establish mandates for external evaluations and approve summary of reports from external evaluations.
The Committee of Academic Affairs can provide input and advice to the faculty in matters concerning:
- Educational quality, quality reporting and follow-up of this. When relevant, it should be done in consultation with the Doctoral Committee at TKD
- The quality assurance system and implementation of this at the faculty
- Exploratory applications for new bachelor's and master's programmes
- Education strategy and study portfolio in the strategy for the faculty. When relevant, it should be done in consultation with the Doctoral Committee at TKD and the Research and Development Committee at TKD
- Regulations and guidelines on studies, practice and exams
- Relevant hearings and investigations on higher education.

All case proposals must be submitted through the appropriate line of reporting and sent to the secretary no later than three weeks before the meeting. Proposals will be accepted only if approved by the manager connected to the case.
Case documents will be published one week before the meeting.
