Exclusion affects many individuals and it has major effects on the societal level. A concerted effort is needed with participation across disciplines, professions and sectors to include more children and young people.
This is the starting point for the Government's establishment of a social mission with the aim of including more children and young people in education, working life and society. Our strategic research area at OsloMet follows this mission.
The strategic research area will generate the knowledge needed to include more children and young people.
At OsloMet, we have several key research areas that contribute, including research on education, working life, leisure, health and social services, local communities, upbringing, diversity, exclusion and marginalisation.
The thematic focus on exclusion among children and young people affects many of OsloMet's academic communities, and it will build on work done in OsloMet's Children and Young People's Initiative (2023-2025).
The strategic research area is one of four strategic research areas at OsloMet in the period 2026-2029.
