Strategic research areas

OsloMet's four strategic research areas aim to promote and strengthen the university's research and knowledge development in key areas. The strategic research areas will last for five years, from 2026 to 2030.

The themes are grounded in major societal challenges and will help address these with research-based knowledge. The strategic research areas are interdisciplinary, align with one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and are relevant to OsloMet’s strategy.

They will foster scholarly activity across the university, lay the groundwork for increased external funding and develop areas where OsloMet already has strong research.
