Future Health and Care Services

To develop smarter organization of future health and care services, better use of resources, and innovative technology, significant knowledge development is needed.

The demand for health and care services will increase in step with an aging population. At the same time, there will be fewer workers to meet this demand.

Success also requires close collaboration between academia and practice so that knowledge is put into use.

This strategic research area is anchored in:

• OsloMet’s strategy, with an emphasis on the goals of sustainable welfare solutions, and competence for an unpredictable world.
• The Long-Term Plan for Research and Higher Education, particularly the thematic priorities of health, and of enabling and industrial technologies.
• The UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular goal 3: good health and well-being.

The strategic research area will build on the work that has been done within the individual academic communities, within the Intelligent Health Initiative, and several other initiatives at OsloMet.

Future Health and Care Services is one of the four strategic research areas at OsloMet.
