About
Birgitte P. Haanshuus is a researcher at Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Oslo Metropolitan University, and an affiliated researcher at the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX), University of Oslo. Her research focuses on right-wing extremism, antisemitism, and hate speech in particular, and political communication on digital platforms more generally.
Haanshuus is currently a project member of the research project 'Profiles and Political Debate', which examines the characteristics of profile-based political debate, the reasons behind this type of initiatives, and how the public reacts to the content.
Haanshuus holds a PhD in media studies (2024) and a master's degree in political science (2015) from the University of Oslo. She has previously worked as a researcher at the Center for Research on Extremism (C-REX), University of Oslo, and as a PhD research fellow and project coordinator at the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies.
