Luca Piciullo is an Associate Professor at OsloMet and a Senior Researcher at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute. His scientific pursuits primarily revolve around slope stability analysis, rainfall thresholds, early warning systems, risk assessment, and tailings dam stability analysis. With a portfolio of national and international research endeavors, including significant involvement in EU projects, and over 20 impactful scientific papers, Luca s expertise is highly regarded in the academic community.

His contributions extend beyond research as he convenes sessions on landslide early warning and monitoring at renowned conferences like EGU and WLF. Additionally, Luca serves as a distinguished expert adviser for Start FOREWARN and is a member of the executive committee of the International network LANDAWARE. Furthermore, he is a member of the technical committee on Tailing and Mine Wastes of The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
