Jorun Rugkåsa er Professor i psykisk helsearbeid ved Fakultet for helsefag. Hun har en doktorgrad i sosiologi fra Queen’s University, Belfast (2010). Hennes forskningsinteresser er innen helsetjenesteforskning, og spesielt psykisk helsearbeid, hvor hun har ledet prosjekter om effekt og opplevelser av tvungent psykisk helsevern, samhandling og sammenhenger mellom de kommunale og spesialisttjenestene, samt rollen pårørende har i utøvelsen av tjenester.
