Sezer Kisa er professor i global helsepleie ved Institutt for sykepleie og helsefremming, Fakultet for helsevitenskap. Hun tok doktorgraden sin i obstetrisk og gynekologisk sykepleie ved Hacettepe universitet i Ankara, Tyrkia, i 2007. Med over tjuefem års undervisningserfaring på ulike nivåer, fra bachelorprogrammer til doktorgradsprogrammer, har Kisa bidratt betydelig til sykepleieutdanningen.
I tillegg til sin akademiske rolle har Sezer Kisa etablert en solid tilstedeværelse internasjonalt. Hun har samarbeidet med institusjoner i USA, Malta, Finland, Norge og flere andre europeiske unionens land. Hennes forskningsinteresser omfatter et bredt spekter og fokuserer på global helse, kvinners og ungdommers helse, sosial ulikhet, vold mot kvinner og sykepleie. Hun er forskningsgruppeleder for migrasjon og minoritetshelse. Vinner av 2023 FoU pris fra OsloMet.
