About
I mainly teach special needs education, primarily on reading, writing, and language disorders. My professional interests are related to language and reading development, early reading instruction, multilingual development, and various forms of reading and writing disorders. My PhD project from 2021 focused on ways to strengthen decoding skills in students with diagnosed dyslexia, and in first-grade students with a reading delay.
I am also concerned with how general language comprehension affects both decoding and reading comprehension for all students, and how students' reading outcomes can be enhanced through (linguistic) measures in schools. In this context, I am particularly interested in play-based approaches, student-active learning methods, and dialogic teaching
