About

I hold degrees in international law and political science from Lancaster University and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), respectively. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Law at Leeds Law School, Leeds Beckett University, where my research focuses on how great power politics and geopolitical tensions influence the governance of cyberspace.

Previously, I was a professional football player. After retiring in 2013, I worked as an adviser at NAV Notodden/Hjartdal. From 2015 to 2021, I served as a lecturer and adviser at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), campus Bø. I also have the honour of serving as Deputy Mayor of the beautiful municipality of Notodden, currently in my second term.

Today, I am a member of the research group Innovation, Digital Transformation and Sustainability. I teach the bachelor-level course Technology and Society (5 and 10 ECTS), and the master’s courses ACIT4055 Security Politics, Cyberwar, and Ethics, ACIT4025 Cybersecurity and Privacy, and ACIT4090 Globalisation of Technology. In addition, I serve as the international coordinator at the Department of Computer Science, responsible for coordinating the Accessibility and Digital Communication programme for exchange and international students.

As of June 2025, I was also selected to serve as an International Election Observer through NORCAP / the Norwegian Refugee Council, Norway’s official mechanism for deploying qualified election observers to international election observation missions.
