About

I am the Department Head at the Department of Built Environment, OsloMet, and hold a PhD and engineering background from the University of Tromsø. In 2015, I was a visiting phd scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.

As department head, I am responsible for both the academic and administrative enactment of the department. This includes personnel and financial management responsibilities, as well as executive budgetary authority. I am accountable for the departments academic activities, fostering innovation, evaluation, quality assurance, and the delivery of teaching and research in accordance with established goals and strategies. Additionally, I contribute to the development of a positive organizational culture, facilitate efficient and effective organization of the department, ensure good interaction with the faculty administration, and ensure that the departments activities are developed and managed in line with strategies and decisions made by governing bodies.

As department head, I also foster collaboration, communication, and information flow between stakeholders within and outside the university, and drive efforts to connect academic communities across departments and faculties. I also ensure that students and staff in the department are heard in matters concerning them.

My research interests lie in critical infrastructure, with particular expertise in bridge condition assessment using drones, resilience, risk assessment related to critical infrastructures, and proposing sustainable solutions.
