The purpose of this project is to develop a framework for efficiently extracting data from physiotherapy records in private practice, to use this data in reporting and research.
There is no structured data on the patient population in fully private physiotherapy practices, which means there is no basis for comparing patients who seek public physiotherapy services with those who seek fully private physiotherapy services.
The aim of this project is first to use machine learning methods to efficiently extract text from patient records, convert the text into a research dataset, and then describe the patient group and compare patients using fully private physiotherapy services with patients using public physiotherapy services.
