Motivation in health professional education

The project explores what motivates students to start and complete health professional education at OsloMet and how motivation can be strengthened throughout their studies.

The study focuses on motivation among students in five health professional programs at OsloMet: nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social education, and paramedicine.

We examine factors influencing students’ choice to start and complete their education and aims to identify measures to reduce dropout rates and enhance learning processes.

The methods include surveys of first-year students (WP I) and multi-stage focus group interviews with students in the first and third year of study (WP II).
