Funding 

To be eligible to apply for admission to the PhD programme at LUI, you must have funding.

Candidates who hold a PhD position or have 50 percent R&D time funded by another faculty or institution may also apply for admission to the PhD programme at LUI. The same applies to applicants in the process of obtaining Public Sector PhD scheme or Industrial PhD scheme funding.

Application process 

Once funding is in place—either because you have been offered a PhD position at the faculty, or you have external funding—you must apply for admission to the programme itself. These are two separate processes, and you cannot start in the research fellowship position unless you have also been admitted to the programme.

Supervisors 

Your supervisors are important for your PhD project. As a general rule, you should have two supervisors, one of whom is appointed as the main supervisor in the admission decision. You must therefore propose at least one supervisor when you apply for admission to the PhD programme. At least one of your supervisors must be employed at OsloMet. Who can be a supervisor?

• All supervisors must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent competence in the field and be active researchers:
