About
Bineeth Kuriakose is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies. His current research operates at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Investigative Journalism, where he develops AI-driven methods and tools to help journalists uncover complex stories, with a strong emphasis on transparency, trustworthiness, and human-centered design.
He holds a PhD in the interdisciplinary fields of Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction from Oslo Metropolitan University. With a primary focus on Human-Centered AI, he has prior research experience applying AI in accessibility technologies, health, and education. His work brings together expertise in human-computer interaction, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and data visualisation, driven by a deep interest in societal impact and innovation.
In recognition of his contribution to socially relevant interdisciplinary research, he received the OsloMet <<Prize for Promising Researcher>> in 2025.
