Edmund Henden

About

Edmund Henden is a philosopher with a Mag. art. from the University of Oslo and a DPhil from the University of Oxford. His research interests are in the fields of ethics and professional practice, moral psychology, action theory, and the philosophy of social science. He is particularly interested in questions concerning autonomy, free will, voluntariness, informed consent, self-control, rationality, and decision-making. His approach to these questions broadly involves empirically informed philosophical analyses. Henden has led several interdisciplinary research projects addressing normative issues related to addiction. Currently, he is leading an NFR-funded project that examines how artificial intelligence affects the possibility of meaningful work. Henden regularly teaches PhD courses in the philosophy of science and ethics at SPS.
