Mag. art. in sosiology (University of Oslo), PhD in international development studies (Roskilde University) Research focus: Development studies, political economy, historical sociology, state/regimes, labour relations Regional focus: East and Southeast Asia, mainly Taiwan, Malaysia, China and Vietnam. Recently my research has focused on the relationship between China and the United States. I am also working on a Norwegian-language textbook manuscript on "Marx and modern capitalism".
