About NorLAG

The Norwegian Life Course, Ageing and Generation Study (NorLAG) is the first longitudinal and multidisciplinary study on ageing in Norway.

The main themes are work and retirement, family and intergenerational relationships, quality of life and mastery and health, health behaviour and care.

Four survey waves (2002, 2007, 2017 and 2024) have been collected, and so far the three first, including data from a total of 11028 individuals, are available for research.

The data collections are carried out by Statistics Norway and consist of telephone interviews, self-administered questionnaires and annually updated register data.
