BRO: Roadmap for sustainable radical task sharing

The project will develop and test a new model for organizing municipal health and care services.

The starting point of the project is two parallel societal challenges: increasing pressure on services due to an aging population and a shortage of healthcare personnel, as well as a large number of people of working age outside employment and education.

BRO addresses this through a model of radical task sharing, where healthcare professionals focus on core tasks requiring professional expertise, while simpler and practical tasks are carried out by so-called community resources.

Methodologically, the project is designed as embedded research combined with intervention and evaluation. The model will be implemented in full-scale operation in collaboration with the municipalities of Lillestrøm and Nordre Follo, and the borough of St. Hanshaugen.

The project is led by The Faculty of Social Sciences at OsloMet and carried out in collaboration with the University of South-Eastern Norway, Roskilde University, and Örebro University.
