Research Literacy in Practice: Tracking and Supporting Early Career Teachers (ReLiP-ECT)

The project investigates how early-career teachers use research to inform their teaching and professional decision-making.

ReLiP-ECT investigates how early-career teachers use research to inform their teaching and professional decision-making. Through collaboration between universities, schools, and educational stakeholders across the Nordic and Baltic countries, the project seeks to promote sustainable research-informed practice, enhance teacher development, and strengthen school–university partnerships.

The project follows early-career teachers across eight Nordic and Baltic countries through classroom observations, interviews, surveys, and collaborative inquiry activities. It also establishes Mentored Communities of Practice where teachers, school leaders, teacher educators, and experienced teacher-researchers work together to support research-informed teaching.

ReLiP-ECT aims to strengthen the connection between teacher education and school practice, enhance teachers’ professional development, and provide evidence-based recommendations for teacher education institutions, schools, and policymakers. Key outputs include a Digital Research Hub, policy briefs, research publications, and a Handbook of Nordic-Baltic Teacher Inquiry Stories that showcases examples of research-informed teaching practice.
