Mahdi Kioumarsi er professor ved Institutt for bygg- og energiteknikk ved OsloMet — storbyuniversitetet i Oslo, Norge. Som en ledende ekspert på betongmaterialer og konstruksjoner i Norge har han bred erfaring innen strukturanalyse, numerisk modellering og bærekraftige byggematerialer. Han fungerer som leder for forskning og utvikling ved Structural Engineering Laboratory (SEL) ved OsloMet. Han leder også SmartMet-laben, som fokuserer på smart overvåking og vedlikehold av infrastruktur. Sammen med forskningsgruppen innen strukturanalyse er Prof. Kioumarsi også medlem av forskningsgruppen for byggledelse, bærekraft, innovasjon og digitalisering ved OsloMet. Han har deltatt i og ledet flere regionale, nasjonale og internasjonale forskningsprosjekter. OsloMet tildelte ham et individuelt stipend ved Research Talent Development Program for 2020. Prof. Kioumarsi har publisert i fagfellevurderte tidsskrifter og presentert på anerkjente konferanser. Han fungerer også som fagfelle og medlem av redaksjonsråd for flere internasjonale vitenskapelige tidsskrifter.
