About
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Primary and Secondary Teacher Education at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). My research focuses on teaching quality, educational measurement, and teacher education. I am currently involved in developing and piloting survey instruments for the Teacher Education Panel Study (TEPS), a research infrastructure project that aims to build a large national database for research on teacher education in Norway.
In my postdoctoral project, I investigate teaching and learning processes in teacher education, focusing on how teacher educators’ beliefs, competencies, and approaches to teaching shape student teachers’ learning approaches, course experiences, and learning outcomes. The project aims to better understand the mechanisms through which teaching in teacher education influences student teachers’ learning and professional development.
During my PhD in Education at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research at the University of Oslo, my work focused on teaching quality in primary and secondary education mathematics and science classrooms, with particular attention to the reliability and validity of student questionnaires and classroom observation instruments used to capture teaching quality. My broader research interests lie at the intersection of teaching and learning processes and educational inequity, either in primary, secondary, or higher education.
Through my research, I aim to contribute to a stronger empirical basis for understanding the underlying processes in (teacher) education systems.
