About
Eilev Hegstad is writing a Doctoral Thesis with the working title "The role of ethics committees and moral experts democracy". Hegstad has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo (2016). His academic interests are knowledge and expertise in politics, ethics committees, democratic theory, normative methodology and political ideologies.
In 2023 the book "Kristendemokrati" [Christian Democracy], which Hegstad edited, was published.
He was a Recognized Student at the Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University with professor Jonathan Wolff as supervisor, in early 2022.
During the academic year 2020/2021 he was part of the research project "What is a Good Policy? Political Morality, Feasibility, and Democracy" (GOODPOL) at the Center for Advanced Study at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

There exists a system of governmental advisory commissions which are tasked with giving policy advice to governments on the premise that this will contribute to improved governing.
