Stine works in the section for research and societal impact, with tasks related to external funding of research and cross-sectorial collaboration, particularly with the municipal sector. She is also the secretary for OsloMet's ethics committee. Stine holds a Ph.D. in English language and linguistics from the University of Oslo and has been a postdoctoral researcher in a Research Council-funded project on multilingualism in schools
