About
Marianne Takle is a research professor in the department of health and welfare studies. She is a political scientist with a doctoral dissertation on German immigration policy and postdoctoral work on immigrant organisations in Oslo. Takle has published books and articles on EU migration policy, national migration policies in European countries, solidarity, nationalism, and cultural studies. She was a visiting fellow at POLIS, University of Cambridge (Autumn 2010), and Europa-Kollege, Universität Hamburg (Autumn 2014). Her current research examines solidarity with future generations and the political dynamics of cultural policy. In recent years, Takle has participated in research projects examining the effects of ecological change on welfare states. These projects gave her the opportunity to author the book published by Routledge: Showing Social Solidarity with Future Generations, which is available as open access.
