Veerle Garrels

About

Veerle Garrels is professor in special needs education. She holds a doctoral degree in special education from the University of Oslo; in her PhD-project, she conducted research on student-directed learning and self-determination for students with intellectual disability. Her research interests include quality of life, living conditions, and equal access to justice for people with neurodevelopmental disorders, school-work transitions for young adults with intellectual disability, and qualitative research methodology.
