Evi Schmid

About

I am a professor of educational sciences with a PhD from Switzerland. Before moving to Norway, I spent many years conducting research on dropout from apprenticeship training, including factors that promote or hinder re-entry after contract termination, and I taught in vocational teacher education. Since 2017, I have worked at the Department of Vocational Teacher Education, where I teach on the master’s programme in vocational pedagogy. My research interests include learning and conditions for learning in school and in the workplace, dropout and completion in upper secondary education, school-to-work transitions and teachers’ relational work in school. Currently, I am leading the project School4Work – Vocational Teachers as Facilitators in the School-to-Work Transition.
