OsloMet Green Transitions Day 2026

How does OsloMet contribute to the green transitions shaping our time?

Across OsloMet, researchers, educators, students, professional communities and academic environments are responding to green transitions from a wide range of perspectives.

Their work addresses questions related to issues like climate, energy, biodiversity, resource use, circular economy, materials, urban systems, governance, communication, design, digitalisation, professional practice, technology development, education, environmental justice and societal change.

OsloMet Green Transitions Day 2026 is a university-wide arena for making this diversity visible, connecting environments across the university, and exploring how OsloMet can strengthen its contributions to green transitions.

The day will combine contributions in different formats with opportunities to connect, learn from each other and reflect on how the OsloMet community and its partners can respond to the green transitions shaping our time.

Get involved: Register and contribute

Registration is open to OsloMet staff, students, external partners and invited contributors. Seats are limited, and we expect broad interest across OsloMet. Please reserve your place early by following the link above. A detailed programme will be published in August.

We also invite contributions from across OsloMet that help make visible the diversity of activities, knowledge, perspectives, methods, practices and environments related to green transitions. The call welcomes different formats, including short contributions, PhD and early-career pitches, interactive formats, and contributions from individuals, groups, networks, projects or units.

Call for contributions (nettskjema.no). Deadline: Wednesday, June 17.

A broad understanding of green transitions

The event builds on an open understanding of green transitions. No single framing can capture the diversity of contributions needed to respond to the interlinked crises of unsustainability shaping our time.

At OsloMet, this work takes shape through research, education, innovation, artistic and practice-based work, laboratories and infrastructure, professional training, policy engagement and collaboration with partners in society.

The questions raised by green transitions are not unique to OsloMet. The event therefore also contributes to wider conversations about how universities and their partners can build the capacity to respond wisely and collaboratively.

Mapping still open

We are continuing the mapping of activities and interests related to green transitions across OsloMet. If you have not done so, please contribute to the mapping (nettskjema.no).
