Diego Praino er førsteamanuensis i offentlig rett ved Handelshøyskolen ved OsloMet, hvor han underviser i Arbeidsrett (BAL1300), Arbeidsrettslige perspektiver i endringsprosesser (MSLV4700), EU Law and Politics (BALV3500) og Immigration Law (MINF6200), og hvor han har ansvar som akademisk internasjonal koordinator. Han har en doktorgrad i jus og økonomi (med hovedfokus på statsrett) fra Scuola Normale Superiore og Università di Napoli Federico II. Forskningen hans fokuserer på innvandringslovgivning, den europeiske integrasjonsprosessen og styreformer. Hans arbeid er publisert i akademiske tidsskrifter som Nordic Journal of Migration Research, Kritisk Juss, Journal of European Integration og Revista Catalana de Dret Public.
